Old Hickory was everything I expected it to be. The view was fantastic, the food was delicious, the company worthwhile. It was definitely worth 75 dollars.
Toasts to Jessica for putting it on for us! :D
For the first course you could either get a salad or soup. I went with the Wedge Salad, complete with bacon, pepper, and eggs. Very delicious. I substituted the normal Blue Cheese Dressing with Caesar, and found that it was amazingly good. As a hard-core Hidden Valley ranch kind of gal, I was sort of skeptical. Ok, so maybe a little bit more than a little. In any case, I was pleasantly surprised. I wish I got a picture of it, though, because it wasn't your normal run-of-the-mill kind of salad. I can't even explain what it looked like. Google "Wedge Salad" and you'll come up with something similar. :)
The second course was your meat! I got a 16oz New York Strip, well done. Now that was an amazing steak. I've only tasted one other kind of steak before that compares with my NYS, and it was made by my dad. *taste buds begin to act up* Yummm!!!
And last but not least was the third course. You can probably guess what it was. Dessert!!! And, wow, my dish was AMAZING. I got this Ice Cream Sandwich thing, with raspberry sauce and some kind of crispy chocolate sprinkles (kind of what you'd find in a Crunch bar).
(Sorry for he blurry pictures, by the way. There was no flash photography allowed, so I couldn't use Auto or anything.)
Doesn't it look amazing? Say yes! Otherwise I officially disown you. Jk jk. :D
After we finished our 2 and a half hour meal, we went out to the balcony to watch the fireworks. Yeah, you heard me right. Every Saturday the Old Harbor does a display, apparently. The fireworks totally made the night, in my opinion. What better way to spend ones time after an extravagant meal than watching exploding glitter and sparkles? :D
Talking on the balcony. :)
A picture of the photographer. Classic. :)
A group picture of all of us. From left: Jessica, Kaitlyn, Andrew, Ryan, Joe, Adriana, me, Rachel, and Sarah. The chaperons included: the youth pastor Pastor Ben and his wife, Mrs. Carissa, and then Mr. and Mrs. Katzburg. Amazing group, I must say. We all had a great time.
Jessica! The one who made this all possible. Thanks! :)
NOTE: 13 people, plus 75 dollars per person, plus whatever else, equals... 1,262.94. That was our grand total for the night. Yeah, now you know what I mean about "Extravagant Meal". ;)
STAY TUNED for more about my life.
